Stone Island 2026: Community, Innovation & SS26 Menswear

Stone Island sets a strong pace for 2026. Dominating feeds across all fronts, the brand continues to roll out initiatives rooted in community, storytelling, and innovation — realms Stone Island has long mastered. More than 40 years in the game and still taste-making what we consider the benchmark for menswear, the brand delivers an evergreen take on classics, refined season after season.

‘Community as a Form of Research’: Inside Stone Island’s Most Personal Campaign

Community as a Form of Research has proven to be a major hit on social media. Established in 2024 as a way to better understand the people who have championed the brand — while honouring its legacy of boundless creativity — the platform brings together footballers, martial artists, designers, painters, musicians, and creatives of all walks. Each answering intimate, endearing questions that deepen their allure, with fans praising the campaign for offering a more personal look at their favourite cultural figures.

This time around, the platform was also used to debut the Spring_Summer ’26 collection. Wax-treated cowhide leathers, micro-brushed canvas, linen field jackets, and some of the best dye work on the market reinforce Stone Island’s insistence on maintaining a firm foothold in menswear, regardless of season or trend cycle.

Stone Island Capsule Collection: The Year of the Horse

Perseverance and transformation are central ideas of the Year of the Horse, and few brand journeys embody those themes quite like Stone Island’s. It comes as no surprise, then, that the label marked the occasion with a capsule collection honouring the Chinese Zodiac. True to form, storytelling took centre stage, with Taiwanese actor and equestrian Ethan Juan tapped as the face of the campaign.

Grounding design in purpose is second nature for the brand, and this capsule is no exception. Executed in a rich palette of deep brown and gold — colours synonymous with prosperity and good fortune — the collection utilises Stone Island’s signature ‘Nylon Metal Colour Weft’ fabric, known for its metallic, iridescent finish. The standout pieces evoke the presence of a well-kept stallion: majestic, technically sound, and meticulously constructed using some of the brand’s most intricate dyeing processes. The result is a tribute that feels both considered and authentic.

The Prototype Research Series At Milan Fashion Week

Most notably, Milan Fashion Week saw the return of the Prototype Research_Series. Operating separately from mainline collections, the series exists as a true laboratory — an exploration of new processes and techniques, developed entirely in-house and produced in extremely limited runs. This season saw a compelling twist: a single silhouette rendered 100 times over, each in a different colour. Some simple, some complex, but every last piece entirely unique.

Prototype Research_Series 09

For the first time, the Prototype Research Series explored knitwear, but not as we know it. Prototype Research_Series 09 introduced ‘Air-Blown Lamination on Knit,' a groundbreaking technology that transforms knitwear into a waterproof, insulating material that serves as perfect for outerwear. Achieved through a specially developed membrane used in the lamination process, it’s another example of Stone Island pushing boundaries that later set the industry standard.

Why Stone Island Remains The Benchmark

Without a doubt, Stone Island continues to cover vast ground in its pursuit of understanding and serving those who care deeply about creativity and craft. And at Known Source, we’re proud appreciators of that legacy.
