Why You Should Renew For Life!

Renew For Life! ♻️

We’re circular for so many reasons, guaranteeing to sell on any item purchased at any point in the future. Whilst Brits continue to buy an estimated two tonnes of clothing per minute (🤯 🤬), 40,000 tonnes a year ends up in the Atacama Desert. We know we don’t need to educate you on how the fashion industry is destroying our environment, but we want to make clear that being second hand is not good enough.

The second hand industry is still linear. Data suggests an estimated 70 per cent of all UK secondhand clothing ends up abroad, often in countries such as Ghana, where no large-scale textile recycling takes place. Here, a properly managed landfill is the best-case scenario – but other items end up clogging drains, burned or dumped in the ocean.

And second hand fashion marketplaces tend to only give products an extra cycle of two, before they end up in waste. Marketplaces out there are full of too many low-quality goods and are not designed in a way to stop the waste problem. They care more about the amount of products on their sites, than the amount of social impact they generate.

If we can be TRULY CIRCULAR as a small business, we want to challenge the big players out there to let their consumers Renew for life! ♻️
