Jean Paul Gaultier’s AW97 collection titled ‘Fight Racism’ took a strong stance against systemic discrimination. The show gave a spotlight to those oppressed, where no caucasian models walked the show. Gaultier used costume and print to challenge a plethora of industry standards, demanding change in the face of couture.
